Published in the Himalayan Darpan 31/03/2021, Ms. Giri focuses on how the closing of schools during the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the mental health of children and teachers. She opens by stating that, “teachers may be happy to go to school after lockdown, because teachers get to meet their students again and teach lessons in front of students at school. Teachers think education through online classes doesn’t seem to be so impressive because they didn’t get the opportunity to discuss with students and still feel the relationship is missing.” She also writes that, “Teachers can be worried when schools are opened after many months and they can also be afraid of the spread of Covid-believe virus.” About children, she writes, “Students are limited to their homes during this lockdown, which has made a big change in their daily lives and has made it difficult to differentiate their study, play and entertainment times. This kind of change in daily lives has made it difficult for students to manage time, which is why they have increased stress.”
